  • Association Des Femmes Tunisiennes Pour La Recherche Et Le Developpement (AFTURD) - Tunisia
    Established in 1989, AFTURD is a proactive NGO working on national, regional, and international levels. AFTURD has participated in networks of exchange among women in the Arab and African region, such as the Collectif Maghreb Egalité 95 activities.
  • Ahfad University for Women - Sudan
    Ahfad University for Women (AUW) is a private, non-sectarian university for women located in Omdurman, Sudan. The goal of AUW is to prepare women to assume informed leadership roles in their families, communities and the nation. AUW works to achieve this goal by offering high quality instruction with emphasis on strengthening women′s roles in national and rural development and achieving equity for women in Sudanese society.
  • AMARGI Women′s Collective - Turkey
    AMARGI women dream of viable alternatives to patriarchy and its power dynamics, and to this end, they work to strengthen and spread feminism in Turkey. The collective recently opened the first feminist bookstore in Istanbul.
  • Association Marocaine pour les Droits des Femmes (AMDF) - Morocco
    AMDF is an independent NGO which was founded in1992 in Morocco. The group foucses on issues including women′s rights, women′s safety from violence, and gender equality in Magreb.
  • The Asian-Pacific Resource & Research Centre for Women (ARROW) - Malaysia
    ARROW’s vision is for women in Asia and the Pacific to be better able to define and control their lives, particularly in the area of women′s health and rights. Since 1993, ARROW has been able to make significant progress towards this vision.
  • Association Démocratique des Femmes du Maroc (ADFM) - Morocco
    ADFM is an autonomous, non-profit feminist NGO, which aims to promote women′s rights in order to increase women′s power and influence in the juridical, political, economic and social spheres to build an egalitarian society based on democracy and sustainable development.
  • Association Tunisienne des Femmes Démocrates (ATFD) - Tunisia
    Formally created in 1989, the Association Tunisienne des Femmes Démocrates is an autonomous activist women′s organization dedicated to the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women, the transformation of patriarchal attitudes, the defense of women′s acquired rights, and the participation of women in all aspects of political and civil rights.
  • BRAC University - Bangladesh
    From a modest beginning almost thirty years ago, BRAC has today grown into one of the largest non-government development organizations in the world. It works in a number of closely related areas such as poverty alleviation, rural health care and non-formal education among many others to bring about socio-economic changes for a large number of our people, mostly women and children, whose lives are dominated by extreme poverty, illiteracy, disease and malnutrition.

  • GAYa NUSANTARA - Indonesia
    Gaya Nusantra is an LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) organization in Indonesia which provides personal contacts, HIV/AIDS counselling, community outreach and gay awareness workshops. The group also publishes a monthly magazine under the same name.

    HELEM is a leading LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) organization that carries out a peaceful struggle for the liberation of the LGBT community in Lebanon from all sorts of legal, social and cultural discrimination.
  • Indonesian Women′s Association for Justice (APIK) - Indonesia
    The Indonesian NGO, APIK has been providing legal support for women as well as campaigning for the recognition of their legal rights for many years. Established in 1995 by the prominent feminist lawyer, Nursyahbani Katjasungjkana, APIK combines legal aid, research and advocacy. To date, APIK has helped thousands of women in need of legal aid particularly in the areas of domestic violence, sexual harassment, marital and family problems, inheritance and property rights.
  • International Women′s Rights Action Watch Asia Pacific (IWRAW-AP) - Malaysia
    IWRAW Asia Pacific s an international women′s human rights organisation. Since 1993, we have worked to contribute to the progressive interpretation and realisation of the human rights of women through the lens of the UN Convention on the Elimination Against All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) and other international human rights treaties. We promote the domestic implementation of international human rights standards by building the capacity of women and human rights advocates to claim and realise women′s human rights.
  • Jordanian Women′s Union (JWU) - Jordan
    The Jordanian Women’s Union is a local non-governmental membership organization dedicated to abolishing all forms of gender discrimination, and to promoting human rights.  With thirteen branches in communities across Jordan, membership exceeds ten thousand individuals and includes representation from all parts of Jordanian society.  Through national and regional advocacy campaigns, research, and rights-based programming, the JWU targets women and their children, specializing in women victims of violence/survivors of sexual and gender-based violence. the Jordanian Women′s Union has been empowering and educating women on the issue of honor killings; it now runs a hotline and shelter for survivors of violence.

    LECORVAW is dedicated exclusively to the erdication of violence against women(VAW). They aim to break the silence on this taboo issue and promote women′s human rights through legal reforms, advocacy, services for victims, research, and public education.
  • MADA al-CARMEL – Arab Centre for Applied Social Research - Palestine
    Using theoretical and applied social research and policy analysis, MADA aims to enhance the human and national development of the Palestinians in Israel, advance the cause of democratic citizenship, and become a hub of knowledge and critical thinking about Palestinians in Israel, equal citizenship, and democracy.

    The Malaysian AIDS Council (MAC) was established in 1992 to serve as an umbrella organisation to support and coordinate the efforts of organisations working on HIV/AIDS issues in Malaysia. MAC, in partnership with government agencies, private sector and international organisations, ensures a committed and effective response by NGOs working on HIV/AIDS issues in Malaysia.

    Meem is a community of and for LBTQ women in Lebanon. LBTQ is defined as women who self-identify as lesbian, bisexual, transgender (including male-to-female and female-to-male), queer, in addition to women questioning their sexual orientation. We believe in diversity. Meem is based on values of equality, support, confidentiality, and respect.

    PLRC is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that uses the law for the empowerment and development of women and disadvantaged communities. PLRC undertakes various researches on the issues of women′s rights, development, and social justice.
  • Rassemblement Contre la Hogra et pour les Droits des Algériennes (RACHDA) - Algeria
    RACHDA is a women′s NGO in Algeria working on women′s right issues.
  • RAHIMA - Indonesia
    Rahima, the Centre for Education and Information on Islam and Women′s Rights Issues is a non-government organisation that focuses on the empowerment of women with an Islamic perspective. Rahima has developed in response to the need for information regarding women′s rights issues within Islam.

    WCLAC was established by a small group of women in Jerusalem in 1991 as a Palestinian, independent, non-governmental, non-profit organisation. It addresses women’s needs in the context of occupation and militarised oppression of the community, realising the connections between militarised patriarchy and an increase in women’s oppression in private and public spheres.
  • Women Against Violence (WAV) - Palestine
    Women Against Violence (WAV), a resource on women′s issues, has been dedicated to the advancement of Palestinian women in Israel for over 15 years. Established in 1992 by a group of Arab women professionals, who took it upon themselves to voice the needs of Palestinian women after seeing a need lacking in social welfare services for Arab women survivals of violence and began by providing support services as well as empowerment, raising awareness, and advocacy programs that would lift the status of Palestinian women.
